The character of Temple
Temple's own lanes are gated and largely car-free, so access depends on which entrance you use — the Embankment gate, the Tudor Street gate, or the Fleet Street approach by Middle Temple Lane. Victoria Embankment itself runs fast and free most of the day, in contrast to the walled quiet just behind it. We hold on the Embankment or Tudor Street and wait for you to reach the gate.
- Temple's internal lanes are gated; the car waits at the Embankment or Tudor Street gate.
- Confirm which gate you use, since access differs between Fleet Street and the river side.
- Middle Temple Hall dinners often run late — we plan generous waiting time.
- The Embankment is fast-moving; the gate itself is the only real pinch point.
