The character of Belfast
The centre runs on the Westlink and a one-way system around Donegall Square that catches drivers who do not already know the loop. Titanic Quarter is wide and modern but has few places to stand still, so cars usually wait in a marked bay rather than on the dockside road. Queen's Quarter and the Malone Road are tighter, terraced and metered, while the Stormont estate itself has its own controlled access at the gates.
- Titanic Quarter pickups use the marked bays rather than the dockside road itself.
- Donegall Square runs one-way; the car approaches from the direction the loop allows.
- Stormont estate access is via the main gates and is agreed with you in advance.
- Cathedral Quarter streets are narrow — the car holds on Donegall Street and moves on your call.
