Where a car can actually stop in the centre
Broad Street offers the most usable set-down in the historic centre, with space outside the Sheldonian Theatre and Trinity College when the loading bays are free. St Giles is wide, has metered kerbside on both sides, and sits within a short walk of Balliol, St John's and Keble. For the Radcliffe Camera and the Bodleian, Catte Street is narrow but workable outside term-time delivery hours.
South of Carfax, St Aldate's carries traffic past Christ Church but has almost no legal stopping. Clients heading to Christ Church, Pembroke or the Meadow are usually best set down on Speedwell Street or at the Blue Boar Street junction. Merton Street is cobbled, gated at one end, and rarely worth attempting with luggage in hand.
We confirm the intended stopping point before the journey rather than improvising on arrival. If a college lodge has granted vehicle access for a specific time, tell us and we will build the timing around it. Where access is refused, the chauffeur meets you on foot at the lodge and carries luggage back to the car.
