Building the timing plan
Planning begins with the ceremony time and the venue's own schedule. From there we work back through the bride's departure, the earlier runs for bridesmaids and mothers, and any transport for guests without their own arrangements.
Two rules make the day work. Arrive early at every pickup, and build a margin into the leg that matters most. A car sitting outside a house for twenty minutes costs nothing; a car arriving five minutes late costs the morning.
The full schedule is written out and confirmed with whoever is coordinating, usually a planner, a best man or a parent. The couple should not be answering questions about cars on the day.
