The character of Croydon
The station approach on Station Road and George Street is dense with buses, trams and taxis for most of the day, and a car cannot realistically wait at the immediate frontage. We hold on a nearby side street and confirm by message once you are through the barriers. Wellesley Road, the main north-south route through the centre, is wide but heavily controlled with bus lanes.
- East Croydon’s frontage is not suitable for waiting; a side street is agreed in advance.
- Wellesley Road carries heavy bus lane traffic through the centre.
- Tram disruption can push extra passengers onto the roads around the station.
- We confirm which side of the interchange suits your specific arrival.
