Setting down in the Georgian centre
The Royal Crescent has a carriageway running along its front, and a car can pull in there when the residents' bays allow. Brock Street links it to the Circus and is the usual approach. The Circus itself functions as a working roundabout with very limited stopping, so a set-down on Bennett Street or Gay Street is often cleaner.
For the Abbey, the Roman Baths and the Pump Room, the closest vehicle access is York Street or the Orange Grove side of the Abbey. Stall Street and Cheap Street are pedestrianised. Great Pulteney Street is wide and straightforward, which makes it the easiest formal arrival address in the city.
Bath Spa station has a very small forecourt and a restricted approach from Manvers Street. For rail connections we normally meet on Manvers Street itself or on the Southgate side, and the chauffeur walks to the platform end if you are carrying cases rather than leaving you to find the car.
