The Brompton Road frontage
Harrods has no vehicle set-down of its own on Brompton Road. Hans Crescent, which wraps the eastern side of the store, is restricted through the working day and regularly at a standstill through December. The two practical alternatives are Basil Street behind the store and Hans Road on its western flank, each within a short walk of the main doors.
Sloane Street was rebuilt with wider pavements, new planting and defined loading positions, which removed most of the informal stopping that used to happen along its length. A car either uses a marked bay or it does not stop. Collections from the street itself are usually taken from Harriet Street, Pont Street or Cadogan Place.
Harvey Nichols stands at the corner where Sloane Street meets the Knightsbridge approach to Hyde Park Corner, a stretch with no capacity whatsoever. Pickups there are handled from Seville Street or Lowndes Street, both of which sit thirty seconds behind the store entrance. Both are one-way, so the approach direction is settled before the car leaves its holding point.
