A private estate with managed roads
The main addresses sit around four spaces: Cabot Square at the centre, Canada Square to the east, Churchill Place beyond it and Westferry Circus at the western end. Bank Street, Upper Bank Street, South Colonnade and North Colonnade connect them. Each has designated stopping positions, and waiting outside those positions is not tolerated for long.
Because so much of the ground level is pedestrian, a chauffeur who stops at the nearest visible kerb may be a five-minute walk from the door. The set-down is therefore chosen from the building, not from the postcode. For a tower on Bank Street that usually means the eastern side; for Churchill Place it means the approach from Upper Bank Street.
Estate security is present at every entrance and on the plazas. Vehicles are expected to move on promptly, so the standard arrangement is to hold at a permitted point on the approach roads and come forward when the client reaches the lobby. From there the car is at the door inside three minutes.
- Ground level largely pedestrian; servicing and parking below
- Named set-down points supplied in advance from the building name
- Estate security moves waiting vehicles on promptly
- Hold on the approach roads and call the car forward
