Building a realistic sightseeing route
The route is designed around geography and the fixed parts of the day. Timed tickets, lunch reservations and hotel check-in are placed first; flexible viewpoints and short walks are then arranged around them. A route that crosses London repeatedly or doubles back across a county is rewritten before it reaches the chauffeur.
For a UK tour, daily mileage is kept compatible with the experience the passengers want. A journey can be technically possible and still leave no time to see anything. The written itinerary therefore separates driving, planned stops and unallocated time rather than presenting the whole day as one optimistic duration.
- Timed admissions and reservations listed before optional stops
- Daily driving ranges kept separate from visiting time
- Hotel entrances and luggage movements included in the route
- Alternative indoor or shorter stops identified where useful
