The character of Swansea
The centre sits on a one-way system built around the Kingsway and Oystermouth Road, with the Marina and SA1 development easiest to reach from the eastern side. Along the Mumbles Road toward the Gower, the seafront carries heavy traffic on any warm weekend and parking tightens near Blackpill and Mumbles village itself. Cars generally hold on a side road or in a marina berth rather than on the promenade, which stays clear for pedestrians and cyclists.
- The Marina and SA1 allow kerbside waiting; the old town centre is more restricted.
- Cars hold off Oystermouth Road during events at the Arena or the stadium.
- Mumbles seafront parking is tight on warm weekends — we use a nearby side street.
- University pickups at Singleton Park follow the campus access rules for taxis and private cars.
