The character of St Paul's
Paternoster Square and the immediate approach to the Cathedral steps are pedestrian, so a car cannot pull directly alongside either. Cheapside is a bus-heavy retail street that slows sharply at lunchtime and on Saturdays. Ludgate Hill carries steady through-traffic west towards Fleet Street. We generally hold on Godliman Street or New Change and walk the last short stretch when the address is on the pedestrian core itself.
