The character of Kilmarnock
The town centre sits around the Cross, with the Dick Institute and the older commercial streets close by on foot. Dean Castle Country Park, on the northern edge, has its own car park separate from the town's street network. The M77 forms the main route south from Glasgow, wide and generally fast, with the town's own streets rarely the cause of significant delay outside match days at Rugby Park.
