The character of Didcot
Didcot itself is modern and functional rather than picturesque, built around the station and the ring of retail parks and housing estates that followed it. The old power station's cooling towers are gone, but the A4130 and the Broadway still carry heavy through-traffic at peak times. Kerbside space at the Parkway is metered and time-limited, so a car usually waits in the short-stay area and moves to the forecourt once you are through the barriers.
- Didcot Parkway's short-stay bays are metered — the car waits there and moves forward on your call.
- Milton Park and Harwell Campus have their own site roads; a building number speeds up the meet.
- The A4130 through the town centre is heavily used at peak times — we build margin around it.
- Great Western Park and the newer estates have narrow streets; the car often waits on the main road.
