The character of Aviemore
The village itself is compact, strung along a single main street parallel to the railway, with parking generally straightforward outside the busiest ski and summer weekends. The estate roads into Rothiemurchus and Glenmore are single track in places and shared with forestry and estate traffic, so pace and patience matter more than speed. Loch Morlich and the road up to Cairngorm Mountain climb quickly and can hold snow well after the village has cleared.
