The character of Waltham Forest
Walthamstow's town centre and market are dense and pedestrian-heavy through the day, pushing waiting cars onto the surrounding side streets. Leyton and Leytonstone sit close to the North Circular and carry heavier through-traffic as a result, particularly around Baker's Arms. Chingford is quieter and closer to Epping Forest in character, with narrower lanes near the forest edge that reward a driver who already knows them.

- Chingford's lanes near the forest edge are narrow and best driven with a set route.
- ULEZ covers the whole borough and is accounted for in the quotation.
