The character of Walthamstow
Walthamstow High Street carries the market stalls for most of its length on trading days, narrowing the road considerably and slowing buses. Orford Road and the Village are calmer, with genuine standing space among the period houses. Blackhorse Road, toward the Wetlands, is a wider, more modern stretch, and the area generally has better parking than much of inner east London.
