The character of Piccadilly
Piccadilly's one-way flow keeps traffic moving steadily most of the day, but the Ritz and the Royal Academy both draw cars to the same short stretch of kerb. Burlington Arcade is pedestrian and gated at each end, closed to cars entirely. Half Moon Street and the lanes towards Shepherd Market offer quieter holding points a short walk from the main road, better suited to a longer wait than the Ritz forecourt itself.
- The Ritz forecourt is used only when the hotel directs it — otherwise we hold nearby.

- Half Moon Street offers a quieter hold for a longer wait than the main road allows.
- Fortnum & Mason's frontage is almost unusable by car during the Christmas period.
