The character of Lambeth
Waterloo and the South Bank are dense with pedestrians and coach traffic, and cars are better held on a side road than left waiting on the riverside walkway. Brixton's market streets around Electric Avenue are pedestrian-heavy through the day, pushing waiting cars onto Brixton Hill or Coldharbour Lane instead. Streatham's High Road is wide and less congested, though bus lanes run for much of its length and restrict where a car can pause.

- Streatham High Road runs bus lanes for much of its length, limiting where a car can pause.
- Vauxhall Cross sits on the Congestion Charge boundary and is accounted for in the quotation.
