The character of Streatham
The High Road itself is a poor place to hold a car: bus lanes, loading bays and heavy pedestrian crossings run almost its entire length. We collect from side streets off Streatham High Road or from the quieter roads around Streatham Common and Leigham Court Road, where a car can wait without holding up a bus. Streatham Hill’s steeper streets add a little extra time for a doorstep pickup after rain.
- The High Road itself is not used for waiting; a side street is agreed beforehand.
- Streatham Common roads suit a standing wait for family collections.
- Bus lanes run for most of the High Road’s length during the day.
- Common events occasionally close nearby side roads; we confirm the route in advance.
