The character of Dundee
The waterfront around the V&A and Discovery Point is pedestrian-friendly and slow for cars by design, so pickups there use the surrounding streets rather than the esplanade itself. The Kingsway carries the bulk of through-traffic around rather than through the centre, and the Tay Road Bridge backs up at its northern roundabout during the evening peak. Broughty Ferry, to the east, keeps its own quieter pace and easier kerbside access.
- The V&A waterfront is pedestrian priority — cars wait on the surrounding streets, not the esplanade.
- Ninewells Hospital pickups use the main entrance road; we confirm the exact point by department.
- The Tay Road Bridge roundabout is the main delay point on the south side, not the bridge deck itself.
- Broughty Ferry allows easier kerbside waiting than the city centre.
