The character of St Asaph
The town sits either side of the Elwy valley, with the cathedral and its close occupying the high ground and the newer business parks spread along the A55 corridor below. Roads through the centre are narrow around the cathedral green, and the main through-traffic is carried on the A525 and the expressway rather than the old High Street. Cars wait comfortably near the cathedral or the business park car parks.
- St Asaph has no railway station — we route rail connections through Rhyl or Prestatyn.
- Cars wait near the cathedral green or the business park, both easy to reach directly.
- The A55 slip roads near town are the main pinch point on summer weekends.
- Diocesan events at the cathedral are accounted for when we plan the collection time.
