The character of Wrexham
The town centre sits on a slope above the River Clywedog, with St Giles' Church, the tallest church tower in Wales, visible from most approaches. Streets around the Guildhall and the bus station carry pedestrian priority for parts of the day, and through-traffic is pushed onto the ring road. Cars generally hold on the surrounding streets rather than the centre itself, moving in once you are ready.
- The centre is pedestrian-priority in parts — cars hold nearby and move in on your call.
- Match-day access near the Racecourse Ground is restricted from mid-morning onward.
- Border-country journeys to Chester run outside any London-style charging zone.
- We allow extra time on the A483 south of town, which narrows to a single carriageway.
