The character of Skipton
The High Street is wide enough to accommodate market stalls down its centre three days a week, which narrows the usable road to a single lane on those days. Cars hold on the side streets off the High Street or near the castle gates rather than on the market itself. The canal basin and Coach Street area have limited standing space and get busy with towpath visitors in summer.

- Onward journeys into the Dales are agreed as part of the booking, not arranged on the day.
