The character of Reigate
The one-way system around the High Street and Bell Street routes traffic in a loop that catches drivers unfamiliar with the exits, particularly around the clock tower junction. Reigate Hill itself is steep and narrow in places, with limited passing room for larger vehicles. Kerbside waiting in the town centre is possible on the side streets off the High Street but not on the High Street itself during shop hours.
- The one-way system around the High Street and Bell Street loops through the clock tower junction; we plan the approach first.
- Kerbside waiting is possible on the side streets off the High Street, not on the High Street itself in shop hours.
- Reigate Hill can be difficult in icy or foggy conditions given its gradient; we allow extra time on those days.
- Gatwick is close enough that we treat it as the default route unless you tell us otherwise.
