The character of Redhill
Redhill's town centre is functional rather than picturesque, built around the station and the Belfry shopping centre, with the A23 carrying heavy through traffic on its way to Gatwick and Brighton. The station itself handles a large volume of interchange traffic, and its forecourt is busiest at commuter peaks morning and evening. Residential streets toward Earlswood and Salfords are quieter and easier for a car to hold on.
- Redhill station's forecourt is busiest when several trains arrive together; we often hold on a side road instead.
- Gatwick is close enough that we treat most transfers here as short, local journeys rather than long airport runs.
- The Belfry Centre and the town centre streets around it get busy on Saturdays; we plan the approach accordingly.
- East Surrey Hospital has its own drop-off and pickup points; tell us the entrance you need.
