The character of Leatherhead
The town centre is compact, built around a High Street that narrows near the river crossing and floods occasionally after heavy rain, closing Bridge Street for short periods. Randalls Road and the roads toward the leisure centre are wider and easier for a car to hold on. Fetcham and Givons Grove keep quieter residential access, while the M25 junction nine roundabout itself is fast-moving and best avoided as a meeting point.
- Bridge Street can close after heavy rain when the River Mole rises; we route via Fetcham when that happens.
- The M25 junction nine roundabout is fast-moving and not a practical meeting point; we use nearby roads instead.
- Randalls Road and the leisure centre roads are wide and easy for a car to hold on.
- Fetcham and Givons Grove keep quieter residential streets than the town centre itself.
