The character of Norwich
The Lanes and the cathedral close are a tight medieval knot, closed to through traffic and unsuited to any car waiting at the kerb. Prince of Wales Road and the inner ring road carry the working traffic instead, looping the city rather than crossing it. Chapelfield and the surrounding multi-storeys give reliable waiting points close to the centre, and a driver who knows which lanes lead back to the ring road avoids the worst of the one-way confusion around the castle.
- The Lanes and cathedral close are pedestrian — the car waits at Chapelfield or Prince of Wales Road.
- Riverside pickups near Carrow Road are agreed away from the stadium on a match day.
- The inner ring road is the fastest way between waiting points, even for short hops.
- Given the long airport run, we set the collection time around the A11 rather than the city itself.
