The character of King's Lynn
The historic core around the Custom House and the Tuesday Market Place is narrow, with limited vehicle access on market days when stalls fill much of the available road. The waterfront itself, along the River Great Ouse, has restricted parking given its proximity to working port operations. The newer parts of town toward the retail parks are wide and straightforward, a clear contrast with the medieval streets closer to the water.
- The Custom House and market places restrict vehicle access on Tuesday and Saturday market days.
- Waterfront parking is limited given the working port immediately alongside it.
- Sandringham journeys are timed separately, since estate access rules apply on event days.
- The A47 and A17 can slow behind agricultural traffic at harvest time.
