The character of Havering
Romford's town centre is compact and controlled around the market and the Liberty shopping centre, with cars generally held on the ring road rather than the high street itself. Hornchurch and Upminster are quieter and more suburban, with driveways more common than kerbside parking. Rainham's roads near the marshes and the industrial estates are wide but can be poorly lit after dark, which we plan around for late collections.
- Romford town centre traffic is held on the ring road, not the market high street.
- Hornchurch and Upminster favour driveway waiting over kerbside parking.
- Rainham's roads near the marshes are poorly lit after dark; we plan late collections around it.
- ULEZ covers the whole borough and is accounted for in the quotation.
