The character of Clapham Junction
St John’s Hill and Lavender Hill meet at the station in a busy, bus-heavy junction that rarely has spare kerb space. Waiting directly outside the main entrance is not realistic for more than a minute, so the car holds on a side street off Falcon Road or St John’s Road and moves in once you are through the barriers. Northcote Road itself is narrower and market-day traffic slows it further on weekends.
- The station forecourt is for a quick drop only; we agree a side-street meeting point in advance.
- Falcon Road and St John’s Road are the usual holding streets for a rail collection.
- Northcote Road slows during the Saturday market; allow extra minutes for a doorstep pickup there.
- Buses dominate the St John’s Hill junction through the evening peak.
