The character of Cirencester
The Market Place and the lanes around it carry short-stay parking and a heavy pedestrian flow rather than free kerb space, and the one-way system around the town centre needs planning in advance. Cirencester Park runs along one edge of the town, its mile-long avenue closed to general traffic. The roads out toward Kemble and the Cotswold villages are narrow but generally uncongested.
- The Market Place favours short-stay waiting; the car holds on an adjoining street for longer stops.
- Cirencester Park's avenue is closed to general traffic — pickups use the park gates instead.
- Cirencester has no railway station — transfers to Kemble, a few miles out, are routine.
- The Air Balloon roundabout on the A417 is a near-constant pinch point toward Gloucester.
