The character of Canterbury
The area inside the city walls, including the cathedral precincts and the main shopping streets, is pedestrianised for most of the day, with a small number of loading windows early and late. Wincheap and the ring road handle the through traffic instead. The two stations, Canterbury West and Canterbury East, serve different lines and sit on opposite sides of the centre, each with its own straightforward forecourt.
- The area inside the city walls is pedestrianised for most of the day.
- Canterbury West and Canterbury East are on different lines — we confirm which one before agreeing a meeting point.
- Cathedral precinct pickups use a nearby gate rather than the precinct itself.
- University of Kent addresses have their own campus roads and visitor parking.
