The character of Bridgwater
The town centre around the High Street and the former docks has moderate short-stay parking, with cars generally waiting on a side street rather than directly outside. The roads out toward Hinkley Point on the coast carry heavier goods and contractor traffic than a town this size would otherwise see, particularly around shift-change times. The Somerset Levels to the east are flat, open and usually free-flowing.
- Hinkley Point transfers allow extra time for the site's own traffic management and shift changes.
- The docks and High Street area has moderate short-stay parking on nearby side streets.
- The Somerset Levels roads east of town are flat and generally free-flowing.
- Contractor and goods traffic on the coast road is heavier than the town's size suggests.
