The character of Basingstoke
Basingstoke was rebuilt around its ring road in the 1960s, so the town centre reads as a series of roundabouts rather than a high street. Basing View sits just off the ring road with its own slip roads and short-stay bays, useful for a business pickup. Festival Place and the older streets around the war memorial are pedestrianised, so a car collecting from the centre waits on the surrounding one-way system rather than at the shopfront.
- Basing View has short-stay bays just off the ring road, a minute from most office entrances.
- Festival Place is pedestrianised — the car waits on the surrounding one-way system, not the shopfront.
- Basingstoke station forecourt gets busy at peak times; we often hold on a nearby side road instead.
- Chineham Park pickups use the building's own car park where the business allows it.
