The character of Aberystwyth
The town centre sits between the harbour and the seafront promenade, with narrow Georgian streets around the castle that suit a saloon far better than a larger vehicle. The promenade itself is wide and easy to work but exposed to the weather rolling in off Cardigan Bay. Cars generally wait near the harbour or the university's central car parks rather than on the seafront itself.
- Cars wait near the harbour or the university car parks rather than the seafront.
- The A44 and A487 run single carriageway for most of the journey out of town.
- Every airport transfer from here is genuinely long — we build in real margin.
- Term-time congestion around the university precinct is short-lived but predictable.
