The character of Worthing
Worthing town centre, around Warwick Street and Montague Place, is largely pedestrianised, with the seafront promenade running the length of the town below it. Traffic on the A259 seafront road moves steadily except at the pier junction. Residential streets set back from the centre are wide Victorian terraces with generally easy kerbside access, a contrast to the tighter lanes further along the coast.
- Warwick Street and Montague Place are pedestrianised; the car holds on the surrounding streets.
- Seafront pickups near the pier are straightforward outside summer weekend peaks.
- Victorian terrace streets set back from the centre generally allow easy kerbside waiting.
- Station forecourt access is quick outside the weekday commuter peaks.
