The character of Swiss Cottage
The Finchley Road and Avenue Road junction carries heavy traffic most of the day, with the O2 Centre's car park entrance adding turning movements that slow the outside lanes. Pedestrian subways link the corners of the roundabout, which means a car cannot simply pull up opposite where you are standing. We use the side roads behind Swiss Cottage Library and the theatre for a cleaner pickup than the main junction allows.
- The main roundabout is not a practical waiting point — the car holds on a side road behind it.
- Pedestrian subways link the corners of the junction, so we confirm which exit you will use.
- The O2 Centre car park entrance adds turning traffic that is worth allowing extra time for.
- Evening theatre collections wait for a confirmed finish time rather than the printed curtain call.
