The character of Primrose Hill
The streets between Regent's Park Road and Primrose Hill itself are narrow, residential and almost entirely controlled parking. There is very little through traffic, which makes the area easy to drive but hard to wait in without a permit or a clear invitation from the resident. Regent's Park Road stays busy with pedestrians outside the cafés most of the day, and cars generally wait on a side turning just off it rather than directly outside a shopfront.
- Most streets around Chalcot Square are resident-permit parking — the car waits on the nearest unrestricted turning.
- Regent's Park Road narrows outside the shops and delivery vehicles can hold up the road briefly.
- The hill itself is a useful meeting point for addresses that are awkward to find by satnav.
- The Congestion Charge zone does not reach this far north and is not a factor for local journeys.
