Working the village streets
The centre of Hampstead is not built for waiting cars. Heath Street and the High Street have short loading windows and heavy pedestrian use, and the side lanes are frequently too narrow for a car to pass another and stop at the same time. A chauffeur working here arrives on time rather than early, and holds further out if the client is running late.
Where an address is on a lane that will not take a car comfortably, we agree a meeting point at the nearest junction. Residents generally know which corner works. If you are not sure, tell us the street and the chauffeur will look at it and propose one.
Gradients matter more here than anywhere else in this guide. In icy weather the climb up Heath Street and the descent of Fitzjohn's Avenue both need care, and we build extra time into winter bookings rather than pretending the hill is flat.
