The character of Newport
Newport's centre sits below the M4 viaduct, with Commercial Street and the riverside walkway pedestrian in parts and awkward for a car to approach directly. The Transporter Bridge marks the eastern edge of town, and the run out to Celtic Manor climbs quickly into open country on the B4237. Kerbside space near the station and Friars Walk is limited at peak times, so cars usually wait on a side street and move in on request.
- The car waits on a side street near Friars Walk and moves to the door on request.
- Celtic Manor pickups use the hotel forecourt when the resort directs it.
- The Brynglas Tunnels are the one bottleneck we always plan around.
- The Second Severn Crossing and the M48 Severn Bridge are both accounted for in the quotation.
