The character of Mansfield
The Market Place and the streets immediately around it are pedestrianised through the day, so cars wait on Church Street or one of the approach roads and move in on request. Outside the centre the town is a straightforward grid, with the ring road handling most through-traffic cleanly. Sherwood Forest departures leave north-east on the A6075 or B6034, both of which are quiet outside school-holiday weekends.
- The Market Place is pedestrian priority through the day; the car waits on Church Street.
- Sherwood Forest and Center Parcs trips are busiest on school-holiday weekends.
- Business estate pickups off Hermitage Lane use the site's own access road.
- East Midlands Airport runs are short enough to rarely need a pre-dawn collection.
