The character of Worksop
The centre around the Priory and Bridge Street carries a fair amount of through-traffic on market days, with the one-way system around the Priory the main thing a driver needs to know. Cars generally wait on Newcastle Avenue or a nearby side street. The roads out toward Clumber Park and the wider Dukeries are quiet and well-surfaced, though the estates themselves have their own gated entrances and visitor parking rather than kerbside access.
- The Priory one-way system is the main thing to know; cars wait on Newcastle Avenue.
- Clumber Park and the Dukeries estates use their own gated entrances, not kerbside access.
- The A57 toward Sheffield can slow considerably in poor weather at height.
- Countryside pickups are timed around known busy weekend periods at the estates.
