The character of Eton
The High Street is narrow, largely pedestrian-friendly and lined with College buildings that leave little room to wait. Windsor Bridge itself takes only pedestrians and cyclists, so cars cross the Thames via the B3026 through Datchet or loop around through Windsor on the A332. Kerbside space is limited and shared with delivery vehicles serving the shops, so a car usually holds a short distance away and comes forward on request.
- Windsor Bridge carries pedestrians and cyclists only — cars cross via Datchet or Windsor town.
- The High Street has little kerbside space; the car holds nearby and comes forward on your call.
- College gate collections are timed to the exact half-term or exeat schedule you give us.
- Race days at Windsor Racecourse add delay to the Windsor-side crossing; we favour Datchet instead.
