The character of Eastbourne
The seafront itself, along Grand Parade and King Edward's Parade, is wide and easy for a chauffeur, with the grand hotels having generous forecourts. The town centre inland is a straightforward Victorian grid. Beachy Head and the surrounding clifftop roads are narrow and exposed to weather, so a pickup there needs a specific, confirmed meeting point rather than an assumed layby.
- Grand Parade and King Edward's Parade give a car plenty of room outside the seafront hotels.
- Beachy Head pickups use the visitor car park rather than the clifftop road itself.
- Devonshire Park access is restricted during the June tennis tournament; we follow the published event routes.
- The pier area gets busy on summer weekends, when a slightly earlier or later collection helps.
