The character of Conwy
Inside the walls, streets are narrow, largely one-way and genuinely medieval in scale, so a saloon is the only sensible choice for anything but a drop at the edge of the old town. The quay offers easier waiting space than the streets around the castle itself. Cars generally hold just outside the walls, near the station or the quay car park, and walk the final short distance on foot if needed.
- Streets inside the walls are narrow and largely one-way — a saloon is the practical choice.
- Cars hold near the station or the quay and cover the final stretch on foot.
- The A55 tunnel is the one point that can cause a sudden, unpredictable delay.
- Castle event days bring extra pedestrian traffic through the walled town.
