The character of Bury
The market and the streets immediately around it are pedestrianised for much of the trading week, which pushes waiting cars onto the surrounding side streets. The Rock shopping centre has its own car parking, which we use as a practical meeting point rather than the market itself. Beyond the centre, Bury's residential streets are straightforward, with the M66 a short run away.
- The market area is pedestrianised for much of the trading week.
- The Rock car parking is a practical meeting point near the centre.
- Market days add pedestrian traffic on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
- Residential streets beyond the centre allow straightforward kerbside waiting.
