The character of Warrington
The town centre around Bridge Street and Golden Square is compact and part-pedestrianised, with cars generally waiting on the surrounding streets rather than outside the shops. Birchwood and the business parks to the east are modern and easy to navigate, with clear signage and defined parking. The motorway junctions around the town, particularly where the M6, M62 and M56 meet, need careful timing rather than careful driving.
- Golden Square and Bridge Street are part-pedestrianised through the day.
- Birchwood and Gemini business parks have clear signage and defined parking.
- Halliwell Jones Stadium match evenings close nearby roads for an hour either side of kick-off.
- Motorway junction timing matters more here than local street access.
