The character of Maidstone
Maidstone's two stations, Maidstone East and Maidstone West, sit on different lines and different sides of the town centre, so we confirm which one applies before setting a pickup point. The town centre itself, around Week Street and the High Street, is partly pedestrianised, with Fremlin Walk handling much of the shopping traffic. The riverside around the Archbishop's Palace is more open and easier for a direct pickup.
- Maidstone East and Maidstone West are separate stations on different lines — we confirm which applies.
- Week Street and Fremlin Walk are partly pedestrianised, with the car holding on the surrounding roads.
- Leeds Castle bookings need extra time built in for the estate's own gate and approach procedure.
- Riverside pickups near the Archbishop's Palace are generally straightforward.
