The character of Kensal Green
The streets around Kensal Green are mostly terraced and residential, with light traffic away from the Harrow Road itself. The canal towpath and the new development beside it have added pedestrian areas where a car cannot wait, so collections there use the nearest road access point rather than the towpath frontage. Ladbroke Grove to the south becomes noticeably busier as it nears Notting Hill.
- The canal towpath is pedestrian-only — collections use the nearest road access rather than the water's edge.
- Harrow Road backs up at the Ladbroke Grove junction during peak hours.
- Residential streets north of the Harrow Road offer reliable scheduled waiting.
- The Congestion Charge zone does not reach Kensal Green.
