The character of Queen's Park
The grid of streets around the park, many named after English counties, is calm and largely residential with terraced housing and light traffic. Salusbury Road, the area's high street, carries steady local shopping traffic but nothing like the volume of Kilburn High Road nearby. Resident parking permits cover most of the grid, so a car generally holds on a visitor bay or a nearby unrestricted stretch.
- Most streets around the park require a residents' permit — the car uses a visitor bay or an unrestricted stretch.
- Salusbury Road is busiest at school drop-off and pickup times.
- A scheduled wait on Chevening Road or similar side streets is straightforward outside those windows.
- The Congestion Charge zone does not reach this far north-west.
